“Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds (emphasis mine).” Psalm 36:5

Would you take a journey if it had promise to take you beyond the ordinary?  What if it might lead you beyond expectations?  Or how about, an adventure that would take you far beyond anything you could imagine?  

‘”My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”‘  Isaiah 64:3

What if there was a road that, if traveled, would guide you to mysterious and enchanting lands where existed a kingdom...

beyond the deep, dark forest of trees,

beyond the wilderness and expanse of desert,

beyond the valley or the highest mountains of majesty, 

beyond clouds through the atmosphere,

beyond the moon and all the stars, 

where there is a highway beyond the road that carries you…

beyond fear,

beyond pain,

beyond disappointment,

beyond the cage that keeps you from freedom,

beyond death and the grave,

and beyond the fire of separation and despair?
 

Would you take it?
 

How far would you be willing to travel to reach…

Power that was beyond your strength?

Understanding that was beyond your comprehension?

Vision which takes you beyond what you can see?

Wonder that lies beyond your reach?

“How great is our Lord!  His power is absolute!  His understanding is beyond comprehension!”  Psalm 147:5

I wonder, is your heart calling you to the Beyond?  Are your feet longing to travel the road to the highway that will lead you beyond what you have yet known?  Do you feel the road beneath your feet waiting expectantly for your next step?  Is your soul yearning to hear the One whose voice is heard beyond the silence?  The voice that reaches beyond the constraints of time or the waves of sound and beyond the crystal surface of the highest heavens?

Spread out above them was a surface like the sky, glittering like crystal.  Beneath this surface the wings of each living being stretched out to touch the other’s wings, and each had two wings covering its body.  As they flew, their wings sounded to me like waves crashing against the shore or like the voice of the Almighty or like the shouting of a mighty army.  When they stopped, they let down their wings.  As they stood with wings lowered, a voice spoke from beyond the crystal surface above them.

Above this surface was something that looked like a throne made of lapis luzuli.  And on this throne high above was a figure whose appearance resembled a man.  From what appeared amber, flickering like a fire.  And from his waist down, he looked like a burning flame, shining with splendor.

All around him was a glowing halo, like a rainbow shining in the clouds on a rainy day.  This is what the glory of the Lord looked like to me.  When I saw it, I fell face down on the ground , and I heard someone’s voice speaking to me.”  Ezekiel 1:22-28

Dear ones, we encourage you to keep taking one step at a time. I know, the road is long, and sometimes you feel as if you are traveling it alone and you are exhausted which can bring discouragement.  But let us remember the words of Jesus when he said, “but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”.

And let us join hearts with those two disciples on the Road to Emmaus after encountering Jesus on the road with them while stunned they said, “Why didn’t we recognize him?  Didn’t our hearts burn with the flames of holy passion while we walked beside him?  He unveiled for us such profound revelation from the scriptures!”  

So, “be strong and very courageous”, for there IS a highway beyond the road that carries you to places with Father God beyond your wildest dreams.  His love for you is fierce, his promises are eternal and he will never give up on you.
