Connecting to your Creative Heart

How is the temperature of your creative heart these days?  Has your creativity felt more like “work” than “wonder” lately?  Or maybe you are not even sure if you are creative at all?  (This is a common misconception, by the way)  Perhaps you do know that you are creative but have somehow lost that sense of connection, experiencing a creative block?  Regardless of your current circumstances, we want you to know that deep within you lies a seed of genius just waiting to be inspired by the breath of God.

Creativity is not only for the arts such as painters, musicians, sculptures and the like, but for each and every one of us in some unique way or another.  This may look like inventions, creative solutions or even ingenious business plans. We are created in the image of our Creator God, so how could we be anything but creative?

In Psalm 19:1 we read; “God’s splendor is a tale that is told , written in the stars.  Space itself speaks his story through the marvels of the heavens.  His truth is on tour in the starry vault of the sky, showing his skill in creation’s craftsmanship.”  (tPt)

How could one not be creative when we have been fashioned by such a God as this? In the Creation story we see how God’s Spirit hovered over the face of the deep. The breath of the Holy Spirit is that which inspires, waters and brings our creativity to life. Then that seed of genius within each of us will take root, grow and finally be released for the purposes of which it was planted. A seed that bears fruit while inspiring and influencing those in our sphere of influence. For creativity to flow with eternal significance, we must be connected to the Holy Spirit and our own hearts in a place of worship and intimacy with Jesus.  So you see, there is much at stake when it comes to connecting to our creative hearts.

What lies within you waiting for inspiration?
What if your creative expression was meant to be a communication of sacred revelation?

Wonder awaits you in the creative processes of our God. Our prayer is that you will live fully connected to the creative heart of God as He connects you to your own creative heart through His Spirit.
